Course programme

PLEASE NOTE: If you are a current student and enrolled on this programme prior to 2018/19, you can find the relevant programme structure here.

This is a 4-year programme. You will spend 3 years studying on campus, while normally spending Year 3 overseas allocated at a partner institution in the Middle East or North Africa. Students take 120 credits per year composed of core and optional modules, which allows for students to design their own intellectual journey while maintaining a strong grasp of the fundamentals.

The programme has been designed so that second and third year modules build on modules taken in earlier years. In your final-year you will complete an Independent Study Project or Dissertation on an agreed topic in International Management.

If selecting a language option at a non-beginner level, please contact for details of the language placement test prior to the start of Term 1.

Year One
  • Management in the Middle East and North Africa: Domestic and International Developments
  • Introduction to accounting
  • Quantitative and analytical techniques for managers
  • Principles and management of marketing
  • Organisational Behaviour
  • Arabic 100
Year Two
  • Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility
  • International business strategy
  • Managerial economics
  • Qualitative and case study research
  • Arabic 200

In addition to the above modules, students select one of the below modules:

  • International marketing 1: the environment
  • Understanding company accounts and reports

Alternatively, students may select an Open Option module to the value of 15 credits

Year Three

Students will usually spend Year 3 at a partner institution in the Middle East or North Africa.

Year Four
  • Independent study project in international management
  • Arabic 300

Please note that students may be placed in a different language module to the above, depending on their level of language proficiency.
