Course Aims:
Students will be provided with practical skills and knowledge needed to begin the design process for floristry. It aims to give you ability to use a range of materials and mediums to be able to develop your own performance. Including general understanding of work related experience in floristry. These qualifications are suited to learners who may wish to enter a wide range of careers or further learning, from running a florist shop to floral landscape design.
Course Content:
With support and guidance from your tutor, in a friendly atmosphere you will familiarise yourself with craft materials, resources, tools and equipment. This will include floristry display techniques, floristry interior design, designs in different mediums and indoor plant care.

Exam:
Assessment is ongoing. Students will produce a portfolio of work showing completion / evidence ofa number of units which are assessed by the tutor and verified by an external BTEC moderator.
There is no exam but each student will be expected to keep a folder for handout sheets, research and student planning and preparation for their project work.
The BTEC First Diploma offers a focused qualification for learners who wish to follow a programme of study that is directly related to their work experience, or to an aspect of employment that they wish to move into in due course.
