six units-two core units: · Unit 1 Communication and Individual
Rights within the Health and Social Care sectors · Unit 2 Individual Needs
within the Health and Social Care Sectors and four specialist units that
can be chosen from the following list: · Vocational Experience in a
Health and Social Care Setting · Cultural Diversity in Health and Social
Care · Anatomy and Physiology for Health and Social Care · Human Lifespan
Development · Creative and Therapeutic Activities in Health and Social
Care · Health and Social Care Services · The Impact of Diet on Health
unit is assessed by means of one assignment.
Achievement / Progression
With further training or study learners
can get careers such as nursing, social work and residential care
management. If you want to get a job straight away you could work and
train in: · Registered care homes · Hospitals and primary care
trust · Nursing homes · Health centres A BTEC First Diploma prepares you
for employment and provides a good grounding to go on to a more advanced
course such as: · BTEC National Diploma or Certificate in Care ·
BTEC National Diploma or Certificate in Health Studies
will normally need to have one of the following: · A BTEC
Foundation Certificate in a related subject · A general standard of
literacy and numeracy supported by a general education equivalent to four
GCSEs at grades D-G · Related work experience · Other related level 1 or 2
qualifications To apply, complete an application form as soon as possible.
You will then be invited to the College for an interview and an English
Assessment (BKSB). If you are successful a letter
will be sent to confirm this.
