Who is this course for?
The BTEC First Diploma in Health and Social Care provides a broad educational basis for further training, further education or for moving into appropriate employment within the health and social care sectors.
What will I learn?
The course is made up of six units-two core units: · Unit 1 Communication and Individual Rights within the Health and Social Care sectors · Unit 2 Individual Needs within the Health and Social Care Sectors and four specialist units that can be chosen from the following list: · Vocational Experience in a Health and Social Care Setting · Cultural Diversity in Health and Social Care · Anatomy and Physiology for Health and Social Care · Human Lifespan Development · Creative and Therapeutic Activities in Health and Social Care · Health and Social Care Services · The Impact of Diet on Health
Assessment
Each unit is assessed by means of one assignment.
On Completion Achievement / Progression
With further training or study learners can get careers such as nursing, social work and residential care management. If you want to get a job straight away you could work and train in: · Registered care homes · Hospitals and primary care trust · Nursing homes · Health centres A BTEC First Diploma prepares you for employment and provides a good grounding to go on to a more advanced course such as: · BTEC National Diploma or Certificate in Care · BTEC National Diploma or Certificate in Health Studies
Requirement
You will normally need to have one of the following: · A BTEC Foundation Certificate in a related subject · A general standard of literacy and numeracy supported by a general education equivalent to four GCSEs at grades D-G · Related work experience · Other related level 1 or 2 qualifications To apply, complete an application form as soon as possible. You will then be invited to the College for an interview and an English and Maths
