BTEC First Certificate Business

BTECS ARE CHANGING!
From September 2010 the College will be offering the BTEC Extended Certificate (2 GCSE equivalent).

This practical work-related course is studied for one year and includes four portfolio units: business purposes, business organisations, customer relations and business online.

ENTRY RECOMMENDATIONS:
Available to Access course students who typically will have either four GCSE subjects at grade D or above, or a BTEC Foundation Certificate in a related subject.
ASSESSMENT:
All units are internally assessed using practical projects and assignments. Grades of Pass, Merit or Distinction are awarded. The final Certificate is equivalent to two GCSEs at A-C grade.
PROGRESSION:
Progress on to Applied Business Studies, or business related careers such as accounting, administration, customer service, finance, IT, personnel or sales.
