Extra Curricular Activities

·Doing Business Online Students must complete all units to qualify for the Diploma. Stanmore Sixth Form College reserves the right to select appropriate specialist units depending on available College resources.
Certificate in Deloitte's Employability Skills
Employability Skills is a new qualification available from 2007, designed to improve the skills, behaviour and attitude needed for successful employment. The course is divided into five compulsory units. All units will be individually graded "pass" "merit" or "distinction". Students must complete all units to qualify for the Certificate.

Research Skills
Research Skills is an important element of every programme within the Sixth Form College. All Intermediate students will enter for the appropriate IT Plus qualification (Level 1/2) at the end of the year.
Additional Studies
Students have the opportunity to re-take GCSEs in Maths and English.
Work Experience
All students are expected to spend a period of time on work experience with a local firm.
Study Skills
As part of Stanmore Sixth Form College's excellent support network, Literacy and Numeracy support is available to any student enrolled on a course, depending on the student's individual needs (determined during Induction by an assessment). Support is provided through the Skills for Life Study Plus Programme. Students can attend either one-to-one or group sessions in a friendly, stimulating and supportive environment.

The course is divided into six units - three compulsory core units and three specialist units.
All units will be individually graded â€OEpass†â€OEmerit†or â€OEdistinction†. An overall grade will be calculated from the total points achieved from each unit and a single Diploma grade awarded "pass" "merit" or "distinction".
