Course Content: This course covers a wide range of career opportunities including nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, paramedic, social work and care of the elderly. It will give you the skills and knowledge to kick-start your career in health and social care, which is one of the fastest growing employment sector in the country. This is a practical, work-related course in which you will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. You will put what you have learned in the classroom into practice during work placements.
While you are studying on the course you will learn about how people develop throughout different stages in their life, how the body works and how to develop effective communication in health and social care.
Special Features: During this course you will complete one day per week in a variety of placement settings in which you will develop a range of skills and knowledge that employers value
Course Format: 3 days in college and 1 day in placement
Progression: Most learners progress on to a related Level 3 qualification including BTEC National Diploma in Social Care or Health Studies, or go directly into employment.
