What Will I Learn?
You will learn how a recording studio and computer workstation are used to make professional beats, what a producer does - including other jobs in the music industry and how to successfully create your own music product.
If you have just left school, have no experience in Music Technology and you are looking to improve your academic skills, whilst exploring different areas of the music business, then the BTEC First Diploma in Music is for you.
This full time course is equivalent to four GCSEs at grades A* - C.
What Will It Be Like?
You will be doing group recording projects, producing your own beats in the studio and using music production software. You will also complete research projects that cover jobs and areas of the music industry, learn about royalties, copyright and contracts, which you can use to increase your chances of success in the business.
You will undertake preparations for a music product, attending production meetings, organising advertising, using budgets and learning how to work as part of a production team.
How Much Time Will I Need?
This is a full-time course made up of regular studio, computer suite, workshop and seminar sessions. You are required to attend every session as they all link together. Each week you will be in class for about 14 hours. Additional study is required on top of this to complete the course projects.
