This course is designed to develop your skills in business, retail and
administration. It will help you decide on your future career at the same time as giving you the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification in all three subject areas.

During the course you will investigate a variety of job roles in business, administration and retail and develop skills that will enable you to enter employment. You will also gain life skills such as personal effectiveness and financial management which will be vital to you throughout your future career. By studying on this course you
will have the opportunity to experience situations that you are likely to meet in employment. The course also combines study with a range of trips and visits so you experience a variety of modern businesses. In addition to your main course you will also have the opportunity to further develop your numeracy and communication skills.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed via assignments, projects, and presentations all of which will relate to the modern business world. There are no examinations.

On successful completion you may:
Progress to a Level 2, BTEC First Diploma in Business or another related Level 2 course.

Or

Start an Apprenticeship in Accountancy, Customer Services or
Retail Operations. As well as learning, you will develop the skills needed for employment in your chosen sector while earning a salary - see page 26 for further details.

Or

Start an exciting and rewarding career, as a Business or Administration Trainee.

Achieving this course will give you the equivalent of 4 GCSEs at
grades C-E.
