The BTEC Introductory Diploma in Health and Social Care will provide
you with an introduction to this sector. By combining theory and practice you will be able to achieve a broad based qualification. You will be given the opportunity to achieve additional qualifications in Functional Skills.

This course is made up of eight units:
three core units, two personal skills units and three optional units.
The topics you will study include:

· Starting work in health and social care
· Developing skills in health and social care
· Working in health and social care.

The two personal skills units are selected by the College and may
include:

· Personal effectiveness
· Social responsibility at work
· Financial management.

The three optional units are selected by the College and
may include:

· Looking after children
· Images of people
· Health and the environment
· Mapping and local services.

How will I be assessed?
The course is assessed via coursework; this can include projects,
assignments, presentations and many other practical activities. The awarding body sets the coursework for some of the units.

Your tutor will provide you with plenty of support with your coursework and assessments. They are available to guide you through the different projects and assignments to ensure that you get the most from your Introductory Diploma.
