2. Course description This qualification is designed to develop business and IT skills, along with team working and preparation for employment. BTEC programmes offer a practical alternative to GCSE or A-Level study, offering you skills that will be immediately useful in a work environment.  This course has a range of units which will fully immerse you in a business environment. The course also includes guest speakers from the industry, presentations and industry visits. Throughout the course you will learn a wide variety of skills such as how to start up a business, how to deal with angry customers and how to communicate effectively at work. Units include Finance for Business, Principles of Marketing, Promoting a Brand and Customer Relations. By completing this course you will be able to demonstrate a high standard of competency in a real working environment, whilst gaining valuable insights from dedicated seminars, which will often be led by Nottinghamshire business leaders. At ncn we have fully up to date PC suites which will see you well equipped for any office setting. You will also have access to our dedicated learning centres.

3. Entry requirements You must either have: 4 GCSEs (3 at grades A*-D and 1 at grade A*-E), including English Language and Maths. Level 1 qualification at pass, plus GCSE English Language and Maths (1 at grade A*-D and 1 at grade A*-E). Equivalent qualifications - Functional Skills may be accepted in place of GCSE Maths and/or English. If you are 19 or over and have industry experience, but do not have the necessary qualifications you are welcome to apply. 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method You will be assessed via a range of assignments and projects. Assessments include written reports, meetings, presentations, role plays and exams.
