To train the learner in the skills necessary to permit them to work safely with children and vulnerable groups. Suitable for: The course units include Health and Safety in the Workplace and The Protection of Children and Vulnerable Groups. The course teaches the learner how to work safely with children and vulnerable groups and incorporates lessons on how to handle situations which may occur within the martial arts or combat sport environment. The course is style, system and association neutral and is part of a series of courses produced by MAT that are the only martial arts and combat sport based sector specific courses that are nationally recognised and independently quality assured.

Course programme
Through direct tuition and scenario activities the learner will develop their skills, knowledge and understanding of the intricacies of working safely with Children and Vulnerable Groups. Academic study is required and all learners will be required to submit a portfolio based on the course content and personal study. The assessments will be conducted by staff independent to the course to ensure its neutrality and further external verification of the awards will be conducted by Edexcel.
