This course is suitable for those who would like to work in the private security industry as Close Protection Operatives. The course consists of 140 guided learning hours, which combine a mix of classroom learning and practical exercises. On achievement of the qualification, successful learners will be eligible to apply for an SIA licence in Close Protection.

The Level 3 Certificate in Close Protection Operations meets part of the criteria required to gain an SIA Licence.

The criteria required for achieving an SIA Licence are:

• Confirmation of candidates’ identity
• A Criminal records check
• Ensuring an applicant has successfully completed relevant training and holds a recognised qualification for that training.
• A current First Aid Certificate
