The part time BTEC level 3 diploma is designed to equip individuals with the practical skills, knowledge and understanding required for success in current employment and for progression to future employment in a range of mechanical occupations including design, installation, operation and maintenance of complex mechanical engineering products and systems. The course concentrates on the basic introductory material associated with mechanical engineering and as such prepares students for practice as technicians and continuing education by developing their knowledge and key skills to perform technical duties in the field of mechanical engineering.

About this course

Normally 4 / 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including Mathematics and English/Welsh first language. This can be waived for mature students who can demonstrate the necessary commitment and ability.
