Course entry is by interview. Some music technology experience is normally necessary for this course. If you have no musical experience, you may want to consider a BTEC Level 2 First Diploma (a 1-year course) before beginning the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma

Course programme
The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music is a nationally and internationally recognised qualification that is equivalent to 3 full A Levels.
You will benefit from the excellent experience of our technology tutors, as well as access to the latest music software, use of our recording studios - fully equipped with Apple Mac computer and full sound desk, many opportunities of gigs at which you can run the sound system.
Through the course, you will run sound in a variety of concerts, compose and produce your own music, learn the fundamental building blocks of theory, harmony and aural skills, run your own music event and learn about the music industry and how it interacts with society as a whole.
Past students have progressed onto music performance, music composition and music teaching courses at institutions such as Birmingham Conservatoire, Tech Music School in London, Huddersfield University and Leeds University.
