Course programme

Overview of the course:

In year one, students will study for the 90 Credit Diploma. If they achieve a minimum of a merit grade in all units, they may progress to the Extended Diploma in year two. A BTEC Level 3 is a mixture of practical and theory work. During this you will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations and activities. As well as learning about the employment area you have chosen, you develop the skills you will need to start a career. The course is the equivalent of up to three A Levels on completion of the Extended Diploma. The course is split between theory and practical and includes an element of work experience of up to 72 hours, which will involve working within the sports industry. Maths and English will be incorporated into the course, depending upon entry qualifications.

Topics:

The course is comprised of practical and academic elements. Subjects such as sports nutrition, sports psychology, anatomy and physiology, sports injuries and research methods will be the theoretical aspect and Practical Team/Individual will be practical based.
