Course review:

The BTEC Level 3 Manual Handling Course has two components – 2 units via distance learning and 2 days at a training centre. The course is delivered by an experienced trainer with both health and safety and teaching qualifications and will provide you with all you need to know about delivering manual handling training.

The aims of the course are:

  • Develop knowledge and understanding behind managing handling risks in the workplace
  • Develop delegate’s awareness of the structure and function of the spine and what causes back pain and basic understanding of the practical aspect of manual handling
  • Put theory into practice of efficient movement and biomechanical principles by applying them to manual handling activities
  • Develop training skills in manual handling and allow delegates to teach bespoke induction and mandatory training

The learning outcomes

Delegates will gain supporting knowledge of physiology and up-to-date manual handling principles along with practical advice on manual handling awareness training.

On successful completion of the practical and written assignments delegates will receive a BTEC Level 3 Manual Handling Trainers certificate for 3 years.
