Who is this course for?

L3 Health & Social Care is a vocational, 2 year programme equivalent to 3 'A' Levels. It's an intensive course, lots of studying, coursework and has practical work placements throughout the 2 years. This all provides an excellent basis for working in the sector or higher education. Only hard working, determined individuals need apply! It's an ideal pathway to Social Work, Youth Work, Care Home Management or working with particularly vulnerable young people and adults.

What qualifications or experience do I need ?

BTEC Level 3 National Diploma 90 Credit Diploma - Acceptance on to the second year of the course will depend on units studied in year 1. Applicants MUST have either English Language GCSE at A* - C or a pass in Key Skills Communication at Level 2 and Maths. Satisfactory reference from previous School or College

What will I study ?

9 units that include units such as: * Research in Health & Social Care * Dementia Care * Infection Control * Adult Safeguarding Students must also undertake 100 hours of work experience placements during the year.

How will I be assessed ?

9 units are assessed through course-work assignments Please ensure you bring to your interview a handwritten personal statement of approx. 200 words about why you want to work in Health and Social Care

A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is essential before work placements can be undertaken. The application will be made through college at the very beginning of the course. The course text book will cost approx. £20.00.
