What will I study?
This course is designed on a part-time day basis, the big advantage of BTEC Courses is that they involve relevant continuous assessment therefore every piece of work produced such as group projects or individual assignments count towards the final mark. This BTEC course focuses on Construction and is of a modular design, this means that it is made up of a number of study packages (called units) some of which are compulsory and some optional.

How can I progress?
The National Certificate in Construction is recognised throughout the industry as the ideal programme for those wishing to progress towards supervisory roles; technician roles and professional qualifications. Students can progress to a Higher National Certificate or degree course or managerial posts within the industry - over 90% of students who complete this course progress to higher education at university.

What will I need to qualify for this course?
In order to qualify for this course students will need; *A BTEC First Diploma or Certificate or * Four passes at GCSE, grade C or above (to include mathematics and science). *Applicants coming from Secondary Education must provide evidence of satisfactory attendance and punctuality with a good Record of Achievement. * Mature students are assessed by college interview CANDIDATES MUST BE EMPLOYED WITHIN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY. Candidates will supply a letter from their employer approving your continued weekly attendance while on the course.

Course Structure
The course is of a modular design, meaning that it is made up of a number of study packages (called units) some of which are compulsory and some optional. In order to gain a full BTEC National Certificate Construction Studies these units will be studied; *Construction Mathematics, *Construction Science and Materials, *Introduction to the Building Environment, *Construction Technology Level 2 *Construction Technology Level 3, *Organisation and Procedures, *Surveying and Levelling, *Environmental Science, *Measurement. Students will be expected to provide their own Pen, Pencils (2H & HB), Ruler and scale rule (standard architectural scales), Scientific calculator, Eraser and Drawing equipment (45 & 30/60 set-square; compass).
