About this course
At least one of the following: four GCSEs at grades A* to C (diploma course), four GCSEs at grades A* to C (certificate course) including English language, or equivalent qualifications such as a BTEC first certificate or intermediate GNVQ at merit level Satisfactory record of achievement/references Evidence of or ability to demonstrate a commitment to a career in child care Successful interview demonstrating motivation and commitment to the course An initial assessment

In addition there will be specialist units , with links to practice.
Please note that the above units are subject to review by the awarding body. The course requires you to undertake at least 800 hours of practical placement, working with children in a range of settings.
A variety of assessment methods are used including assignments, presentations, displays and written reports. Two units are assessed in part by an exam.
