Course Details

Units studied include: Positive Relationships Positive Environments Promoting Child Development Reflecting on and Developing Practice for Children 0-8 Years Safeguarding Children Promoting Children's Rights Children's Learning Activities and Play.

Qualifications required:
A minimum of 4 GCSE grades at c or above (must include English, Maths or Science) Alternatively Level 2 achievement in Health and Social Care at Merit or CACHE Level 2 Diploma in Children?s Care, Learning and Development at C (22+ points). For mature applicants a good general standard of education and experience in working either paid or voluntary with children under 8 years of age. A clean CRB police check is required.

2 years full-time up to 35 hours per week.

Additional info:
Equipment costs include stationery and recommended textbooks. A clear report from the CRB is required to access this course. An 85% minimum attendance is required at college and a minimum of 800 hours in placement.

To provide, for appropriately qualified learners, an educational foundation for a range of careers in for example, health, education and caring services.
To provide for the development of vocational skills, knowledge, attitudes and understanding which will enable learners to be effective in immediate employment as Level 3 Childcare, Learning and Development practitioners.
To provide access to Higher Education
