BTEC NATIONAL CERTIFICATE IN TRAVEL & TOURISM

Course Aims:
This is a specialist qualification that focuses on the Travel and Tourism industry, providing underpinning knowledge and understanding of the industry.

The UK as a destination
Customer Service in Travel and Tourism
Marketing Travel and Tourism Products and Services
Long- haul Travel Destinations
The Appeal and Importance of UK Visitor Attractions
Year two
The Business of Travel and Tourism
Preparing for Employment in the Travel and Tourism Industry
Tour Operations
Rules and Responsibilities of Holiday Representatives
Work Experience in the Travel and Tourism Industry
Handling Air Passengers

Progression:
Many of our successful students progress to higher education or find employment within one of the many sectors of the industry.

Awarding Body:
Edexcel

Exam:
Assessment is via a variety of methods, including written assignments, presentations, work-based projects and role-plays.

BTEC National Certificate in Travel & Tourism

Other Costs:
Please note that at the start of the course there is a 50 payment to cover costs towards local trips, Alton Towers, Liverpool sightseeing and Travel shows to enhance the delivery of your programme.
Further costs will be required for residential trips, details of which can be discussed at interview.
1st year - Overseas European residential
2nd year - Overseas Long Haul residential

Duration:
Two years full-time.
