About this course
A keen interest in Sport. At least four A*-C passes in GCSE preferably including Maths, Science and English or a BTEC First Diploma in Sport or related subject.

Why study BTEC National Certificate in Sport & Exercise Sciences?
This is a course that involves you in a variety of theoretical and practically based work. The assessment is in the form
of assignments throughout involving realistic workplace activities. In addition to learning about sports development
and fitness, you will develop the skills you need to continue to study or pursue a career in Sport. The certificate also
gives you the opportunity to take another two subjects alongside this, whether they be GCSEs, AS levels or even

Where does the BTEC National Certificate in Sport & Exercise Sciences take me?
The course is equivalent to two A-levels and is a recognised entry qualification for Higher Education. It has particular
value for Sports Science, Physiotherapy and Physical Education courses at degree level. It is also recognised by employers and opportunities in the health and fitness industry, coaching, sports therapy and sports injuries would
be available.
