This course is designed to provide a specialist work-related qualification in Business. It is a popular vocational course in which students will develop practical and theoretical skills which will prepare them for work or further study.

What will I study?
Students will study 18 different units including:
· The Structure of Business
· The Marketing of Products
· Financial Management
· Recruitment, Selection and Management Theories
Students can also enhance their career prospects by taking additional qualifications in Personal Finance and Modern Office Skills.

Foundation Certificate in Personal Finance - Institute of Financial Services (IFS) Students will have the opportunity to gain the valued IFS Certificate in Personal Finance to improve their chances of employment. They will learn what influences how we spend or save money and how to become competent at managing money. At present Selby College is the only provider of this course in the area.

Modern Office Skills All BTEC Business students have the opportunity to learn modern office skills such as text and word processing, mail merge and audio transcriptions in our office workshop.

What next?
Students successfully completing the BTEC National Diploma in Business may progress on to Higher Education at university or may choose to enter into employment in accounting, retailing, financial services or marketing.
