Students who enter with one of the following are likely to benefit more readily from the programme: · A GCSE equivalent to five passes at grade C, or above, including English. Learners who are intending to progress to teaching are likely to require English, Maths and Science as GCSE passes. Mature learners may be accepted onto the programme following interview.

Course summary:

This covers both the practical skills and underpinning knowledge you will need as an early years practitioner. It also provides you with a licence to practice to work unsupervised with children.

Course content:
The BTEC National Diploma in Children's Care, Learning & Development is designed to enable learners to work with children in a Professional capacity

· Promoting Children's Development
· Reflecting on & Developing Practice for Children aged 0-8
· Safeguarding Children.
· Promoting Children's Rights
· Children's Learning Activities & Play
Students will take

further optional units to complete the award. Vocational practice for learners is an essential vehicle for the achievement of the course aims.

Assessment procedure:
Assessment of the BTEC National Diploma in Children's Care, Learning & Development is based on evidence derived from portfolio work, successful completion of Professional Pratice Placements.

Entry requirements:
