What will I study?
This BTEC course focuses on Construction and is of a modular design, this means that it is made up of a number of study packages (called units) some of which are compulsory and some optional.

How can I progress?
Over 90% of student progress to university to study for a degree. Students may also progress straight into employment as a technical trainee or junior professional.

What will I need to qualify for this course?
In order to qualify for this course students need to have achieved one of the following; * Four GCSE's (Grade A-C) or equivalent (to include Mathematics and Science), * First Diploma (e.g. Science or ICT), * GNVQ Intermediate.

Course Structure
The course is of a modular design, and is made up of a number of study packages (modules) some of which are compulsory and some optional, a selection of these modules are shown below. Optional modules generally relate to more specialised areas of professional knowledge and are usually geared to a particular area such as; Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Site Surveying or Construction Management, CAD, Environmental Science. Structural Detailing or Mathematics. In order to gain a BTEC National Diploma in Construction these units will be studied; *Construction Theory, *Surveying and Levelling, *Construction Mathematics, *Graphical Detailing (including CAD- Computer Aided Design), *Science and Materials. Students will be expected to provide their own Pen, Pencils (2H & HB) Ruler and scale rule (standard architectural scales) Scientific calculator Eraser and Drawing equipment (45 & 30/60 set-square; compass).
