Course Content: The BTEC National Diploma in IT Practitioners provides a sound platform for careers in Software Development, Networking and ICT support. This qualification will provide you with the knowledge and experience needed to further your career in IT. Throughout this two year course you will complete 18 units covering areas such as: Software project management and development; Website Design and Hardware and Networking. During the course you will have access to the latest software and hardware as well as the Virtual Learning Environment (Learning Box).
The course consists of six core units these being:
1. Communication and Employability Skills
2. Computer Systems
3. Information Systems
4. IT Systems Analysis and Design
5. Software Design and Development
6. Event Driven Programming
Optional units cover: Visual Programming; Website Design and Development; a Software Development project; e-Commerce and Data Communications and Networks.
Special Features: Students have access to the latest Software and Hardware. A variety of teaching methods are used including individual and group work studying software applications, practical demonstrations, DVDs and visits.
Progression: Most learners progress into Higher Education or directly into employment within a range of IT jobs including Web Development, Network Support and Software Development.
