covers the diverse area of IT and computing but places a greater
emphasis on the development of programming skills. It combines the
traditional aspects of computing with the newer technologies of the internet, programming and games development. The IT industry is
dynamic and the pace of change is fast. This course will provide you with the skills and experience you will find useful in your future career. In the first year you will follow a common curriculum and you will be able to take specialist options in the second year.

The topics you will study include:

· E-commerce
· Website production and management
· Principles of software design and development
· Object oriented programming
· Developing computer games.

You will be expected to design systems creatively and logically,
research and analyse real workrelated problems and present your
work professionally.

You will be given the opportunity to achieve additional qualifications
alongside your main course. These will include opportunities to further develop your literacy and numeracy skills to support you in your studies.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed continually during the course through project
work, assignments, practical tests and presentations.

Choose from a wide range of career paths in the IT Sector, for which you will be well equipped to succeed. Achieving this course will give you the equivalent of 3 A Levels and provides entry to study at degree level.
