· As a course of study, a BTEC ND in Media Production will provide a strong base for progression to undergraduate studies in Film, Television, Journalism, Digital Mediam or Marketing and PR

What is the course about?
This course is intended for anyone with an interest in Media, including Film, Television, Journalism, Radio, Web Design, Multi-media or Graphic Design.
The work is a combination of practical and theoretical analysis, in roughly equal measure, involving the investigation of a range of media products and industries, and the planning and production of video, print and radio products.
There are 2 main pathways:
1. Television and Film
2. Print-based media.
Students need to complete 18 units (9 in each year), to gain their BTEC National Diploma certificate. Core units introduce media concepts, practices and production techniques, in a range of media.
Students will also study a range of other units that will determine whether they follow the Television and Film pathway or the Print-based Media pathway. These include:
· Single-Camera Techniques
· Factual Programme Production Techniques
· Music Video Production
· Film Studies
· Page Layout and Design
· Photography and Photographic Practices
· Writing and Editing Copy (Journalism)
· News Production for Radio
· Marketing and Public Relations
· Digital Communication (Web Design).
Study Skills
As part of Stanmore College's excellent support network, Literacy and Numeracy support is available to any student enrolled on a course, depending on the student's individual needs (determined during Induction by an assessment). Support is provided through the college's Study Plus Programme. Students can attend either one-to-one or group sessions in a friendly, stimulating and supportive environment.
