About this course
You need to have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above or a BTEC First Diploma including Level 2 Literacy.

What is the course about?
This course is a modular programme, offering the opportunity to study a range of disciplines within the performing arts including dance, acting and singing. There will be strong links with industry and the opportunity to produce and performing in large scale productions. You will develop audition technique and have the opportunity to form links with external agents. All BTEC National Diploma students will complete a diagnostic first semester to include general performance skills and throughout the two year course will study skills.

You will receive a guidance interview and audition to make sure this is the course for you.
How long & often do I attend?
The course is offered over a two year substantial programme and requires attendance of several lectures, practical sessions and workshops per week; additional time will also need to be spent by the students in carrying out individual rehearsals and to complete research. You must attend for a minimum of 90%
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is continuous. You will be marked on both practical and written work, which will provide the evidence on which your grades will be based. Theatre is no formal exam at the end of this course.
What opportunities will this lead to?
Many of our students progress to full time employment in their chosen profession, whilst others progress to Higher Education at specialist providers.
