About this course
All applicants will be interviewed before being offered a place on the course. The interview provides the opportunity for both the potential student and College staff to ensure that the course meets the needs and abilities of the student. Applicants will be expected to have at least 4 GCSE passes at grade C including Maths, Science and English or a First Diploma in Engineering. The BTEC Nationals in Operations and Maintenance Engineering have been developed in the engineering sector to focus on: i) education and training for employees in the operations and maintenance engineering sector, ii) providing opportunities for employees in the operations and maintenance engineering sector to achieve a nationally recognised Level 3 vocationally specific qualification, iii) giving learners the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised vocationally specific qualification, to enter employment in the engineering sector or to progress to higher education, iv) giving learners the opportunity to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attitudes essential for successful performance in working life.

Assessment procedure:
This course is assessed using a mixture of coursework assignments and projects.
The qualification is equivalent to 3 A Levels.
