Course Description:
This course is ideal for complete beginners/anyone who is passionate about taking photographs using traditional and digital technology. This course is perfect for 16-18 year olds who have just left school and enjoy creative subjects.

Description Breakdown:
You will look at landscape, portraits, still life, experimental, documentary, advertising and abstract photography. You will cover traditional film processes and digital technology, using a variety of camera formats. You will also experience the moving image (video), Computer Aided Design (Photoshop), drawing and illustration, screen-printing, professional practice and study the History of Art. You are expected to keep a sketchbook and write reports/essays. Throughout the course you will be encouraged to enter competitions and will exhibit your work at local bars/galleries.
Key Skills in IT, Communications and Application of Number will also be involved with your weekly programme.
Its important to mention, that although you are on a photography course, you will be taught many different creative subjects along side this specialism.

Trips Residentials: The photgraphy department arrange a number of day trips to galleries and also a residential.
Throughout the year, several visiting photographers will come to the department to discuss their folios and work.

Additional Costs: You will need a manual SLR 35mm film camera at the start of the course.
