About this course

5 GCSE grades A* - C are normally required, including English Language. Alternatively, a MERIT grade in BTEC First Diploma or GNVQ Intermediate in a relevant vocational area would also be suitable, normally supported by a GCSE grade C in English. You may also be required to take a diagnostic test to ensure you are suitable for the course.

Introduction to course
This is a practical, work-related course. All students take four core units which are: Investigating Travel and Tourism, The Business of Travel and Tourism, The UK as a Destination, and Customer Service in Travel and Tourism. In addition, you will study specialist units such as Retail and Business Travel, Marketing Travel and Tourism Products and Air fares and Ticketing. The course also includes a two week work experience unit. We offer a range of trips that are both assignment based and educational. Past trips have included Thorpe Park, the World Travel Market, London Dungeon and the Science Museum. We also offer a residential trip, this year's destination was Cyprus.

Widely accepted at many Universities, this is an ideal course for those wishing to further study tourism and business related courses. Alternatively, you may wish to go straight into employment.
