Course programme
Budgeting and forecasting are critical in any business. But those charged with preparing budgets often struggle to express the financial implications of their business ambitions - and sometimes see it as a fruitless exercise.
We make the process far more productive, designing programmes that recognise the challenge of making top-down and bottom-up approaches meet in the middle, and using the variances to shape priorities for action.
Much of our success comes from our business simulations. These bring to life the real challenges of co-ordinating budget areas, analysing and attributing variances, and planning next steps.
Depending on particular client needs, course content explores:
- Understanding strategic intent and business target setting
- Producing a balanced scorecard of measures
- Working with cost capture, standard and activity-based costing
- Identifying critical management information
- Conducting variance analysis and rolling forecasts
- Undertaking MRP II and enterprise resource planning
- Action based budgeting.
