Course programme
On successful completion you may progress to:
- a level 2 course in plumbing and heating or electrical installation at the College
- an Apprenticeship in a relevant sector
Completion of this qualification may also enhance your employability within the building services industry and help you to gain employment as, for example, a trainee plumber or a trainee in the installation, service and maintenance of a variety of plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, refrigeration and heating and ventilation systems.
There are four theory units related to the sector and practical units in the areas of:
- electrical installation
- plumbing
- refrigeration and air conditioning
- heating and ventilation.
Your individualised study programme will be made up of the following four areas:
- the qualification you are studying
- English and maths
- work experience
- other activities to develop your personal skills e.g. preparing you for employment, training or higher/further education.
