The Peter Jones Enterprise Academy is a highly innovative and exciting course to inspire the entrepreneurs of tomorrow based on a ‘learn by doing’ philosophy.



The programme has been developed to enable students to start up and run a fully functioning business.

The course is focused on developing entrepreneurial talent and will allow students to improve their employability skills through the start-up process and through interactions with experienced entrepreneurs and business professionals.



During your time at college you will participate in lectures, workshops, tutorials as well as hands on enterprise activities, challenges and business seminars with employers and entrepreneurs. You will also be required to set up and run a business venture with other students on the course.



Our tutors possess actual business knowledge. Leading employers offer not only their time but also real life business expertise. We have a host of guest speakers who come into the PJEA on a regular basis

In addition you can study Functional Skills in maths and English. English and Maths provide the skills you need to operate confidently, effectively and independently in learning, life and work. We are committed to developing these skills throughout your time with us.

You will receive an initial assessment and, if you have not already achieved A* - C GCSE in these subjects you will be supported in working towards this during your time with us in specialist classes at a level appropriate to you. If you have already achieved A*-C, you will continue to have these vital skills developed.


Individual learning targets are set each term and you will receive regular feedback on your progress in meeting these targets. Formal assessment is through assignments, projects, presentations and practical assessments which are set at regular intervals throughout the course.

As part of your Peter Jones Enterprise Academy Level 2 course you will set up and run your own business partnership, demonstrating and implementing key business skills, knowledge and developing essential employability skills


On successful completion of the course you are well placed to start up your own company, gain employment or you can progress to the PJEA Level 3 course in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship.
