Business - BTEC Level 3 Diploma

You will study twelve modules over two years. These modules will introduce you to such subjects as different types of business and how they are organised; business efficiency; techniques and tools in modern marketing; business communication; financial information; design of promotional materials and campaigns; the role of the internet in marketing; how to manage people; and how to set up your own business.

You will also study for Functional Skills or GCSE Maths and English qualifications.

You will need four GCSEs at grade C, including English Language. You will also need a minimum grade D in maths. Alternative qualifications, such as those taken overseas, will also be considered.

You will be assessed mainly by coursework, including practical assignments, discussions and presentations. Coursework will be based around practical business exercises and you will be encouraged to draw on your own experiences of business developed through part-time work or placements.

Like the majority of students completing this course, you could progress to a degree or foundation degree in a subject such as business, marketing, IT, accountancy, teaching or law. You could also enter employment in areas such as accounts and finance, human resources, local government, logistics, marketing or retailing.
