Course programme

Year 1

The course begins with team building activities, including a trip to the Outdoor Pursuits Centre and an innovation challenge where you will start to think creatively about business ideas. You will also meet three entrepreneurs who will share different aspects of their businesses. You will develop your business idea, write a business plan and present your idea to mentors and investors. The remainder of the course focuses on operating and monitoring the performance of your business and you will have the chance to work as an intrapreneur within a business as part of your two-week work placement. You will also have first hand experience of buying and selling through completing one week pop-up trading event. You will benefit from business engagement, enterprise themed activities, inspirational guest talks, masterclasses and competitions.

Mark Watts, Director of VIP Leisure Travel says It is clear that the course provides an excellent grounding in the core skills required in business today.

Year 2

Once you have completed C0200, this course will then follow onto C0829 which will then have helped you develop your enterprise skills in setting up and running your own business.

You will also be expected to complete a work experience placement as part of your programme and study English and maths depending on qualifications already gained.

If you are aged 16-18, you will be enrolled on a study programme, which will include retaking GCSEs or undertaking Functional Skills in English and maths if you haven’t already achieved a grade 4 or above. You will also be required to complete a work experience placement and an employability programme.
