How will I study?

The HND in Business is run as a modular course over 2 years, divided into semesters. Students are required to complete and pass 16 units: 4 per semester. There are 8 business core units and 8 specialist units. YEAR 1 core subjects: · Business Environment · Managing Financial Resources and Decisions · Marketing Principles · Organisations & Behaviour · Aspects of Contracts & Negligence YEAR 2 core subjects: · Business Decision Making · Business Strategy · The Research Project
How will I be taught?

The course has a broad business base, such that each unit will be distinct. Teaching and Learning therefore follows a varied pattern. Learning is accomplished by: · Lectures & Seminars · Speakers & visits · Application of theory and models to real and fictional case studies to analyse problems and make recommendations · Individual, Paired and Group work · Design, Role Play and Experiential Learning · Presentations to Business Clients who feedback on students’ plans and recommendations.
How will I be assessed?

The course is assessed by a mixture of in-course assignment work and end of unit examination assignments.Course work assignments can take the form of Business Reports, Business Briefings, individual or group Presentations, Time Constrained Assessments, through to Presentations of Individual Research
