About this course

Our Business Management and Marketing (including foundation year) BA (Hons) degree will prepare you for an exciting career in business, as a professional marketer or as a business owner.

If you want to start your own business, we even have our own business incubator, Accelerator, which provides entrepreneurs with support, networks and resources to help make your dream a reality.

Your foundation year will be shared with other students on business-related foundation year courses. Sharing ideas and insights with other students in related subjects will help you broaden your horizons. If you decide you’d like to change your degree to a different area of business, you have the flexibility to do this.

The foundation year is designed to give you a broad introduction to various business topics and build on your academic skills. Once you’ve passed your foundation year, your next three years of study will be the same as our Business Management and Marketing degree. You'll graduate with the same title and award as those who studied the traditional three-year course.

On successful completion of this course, you’ll be prepared for a range of business-related careers in both the commercial and public sector. You could go on to work as a business development manager, marketing executive, recruitment consultant, sales manager, human resources manager or communications executive.

The course is also a great platform for entrepreneurs wishing to build on their business expertise, as well as being great preparation for a graduate scheme or junior position in business or marketing.

In addition to the University's standard entry requirements, you should have:

at least one A level (or a minimum of 32 UCAS points from an equivalent Level 3 qualification, eg BTEC Subsidiary/National/BTEC Extended Diploma)
English Language GCSE at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)

Professional accreditation
This course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), which is the largest professional marketing body in the world. It also provides exemption from two CIM units, so you’ll only need to complete one additional unit to receive the Certificate in Professional Marketing.

This course is also accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). In addition to your degree, you’ll also gain the highly sought-after and widely recognised CMI Level 6 Diploma in Management and Leadership.

Accreditation of Prior Learning
Any university-level qualifications or relevant experience you gain prior to starting university could count towards your course at London Met. Find out more about applying for Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL).
