You will study a range of eighteen units including:
- Introduction to Marketing
- Exploring Business Activity
- Investigating Business Resources
- Effective People, Communication and Information
And four specialist units:
-Understanding Business Ethics
-Introduction to Accounting
-Understanding Retailing
-Understanding Employment Law
-Managing a Business Event
Entry RequirementsLearning & Assessment Methods
You will be continuously assessed throughout the course by completing projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations. An overall grade for the qualification is awarded to all learners who successfully complete all units and grades awarded are Pass, Merit or Distinction.

Progression Opportunities
On completion of the National Diploma, students can progress onto a relevant degree at a Higher Education institute. If you successfully complete a level 3 course at Skelmersdale & Ormskirk College we will offer you a place on an appropriate Foundation Degree at Newcastle College (subject to satisfactory interview or course audition).
Career Opportunities
On successful completion of the course, you may progress to university to study course such as a degree in Business Management, Business Studies, Accountancy or Marketing. You may also choose to progress into employment in a business related area.
Course Costs
If you are 16-18 years old you do not have to pay course tuition fees*. If you need information on any financial support that may be available to you with fees or study costs on this course. *exam and registration fees will be paid by the college subject to satisfactory attendance and course completion.
