The National Diploma vocational course is highly regarded by employers and can lead to business specialisms such as finance, human resources, management or marketing. Many Diploma students progress to university taking a wide range of business related courses. National Certificate students either progress to advanced courses or into work.

You will gain experience through a wide range of business tasks, visiting speakers and visits to business. Unlike the AS/ A2 Business Studies this course is assessed through coursework. The qualification is split into the National Certificate in the first year and the National Diploma in the second year. The qualification is equivalent to 2 A levels. It counts as a double course and takes up twice as many lessons as an AS/A2 course.
Students take the following four compulsory units: investigating business, customer service, communications and finance. In addition they take units in motivation, recruitment and selection, sales and marketing.
The course is highly regarded by employers and can lead to a business specialism such as human resources or finance. The qualification enables students to progress to either university or employment.
