Course programme
Apart from the considerable savings that can be made by drying timber at home, sympathetically conditioned wood is easier to work and consequently, more pleasure to work with.
A programme of talks, visits and demonstrations has been arranged which will introduce students to timber selection, conversion, storage, conditioning and drying.
General Course Content
Timber technology - Conversion, storage, conditioning, kiln drying.
Includes visits to timber merchant, portable band mill demonstration, air and solar drying installations. De-humidifying chamber.
