As a result of attending you will be able to: Have a better understanding of the requirements of calibration contained within ISO 9000 and ISO 10,012 series standards. Be able to make clear judgements as to which items of equipment require calibration and which do not. Be able to undertake a critical appraisal of their company's calibration requirements and establish a cost effective programme to meet the company's specific needs. Be able to write effective "in-house" calibration procedures.

  • The origins of calibration / The calibration chain
  • The requirements of ISO 9000 and ISO 10,012 series standards
  • Estimating "measurement uncertainty"
  • In-house calibrations. Calibration procedures / records system
  • Evaluation and use of external calibration services NAMAS labs

Equipment covered will include:

  • Micrometers, verniers, dial indicators and general workshop measuring equipment.
  • Electrical measuring equipment
  • Pressure gauges / Dead Weight testers
  • Process monitoring equipment, temperature, flow, pressure etc.
  • Welding and NDE equipment
