Course Content

The Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) course is a one day course which teaches you machine control and road craft. This is necessary to legally drive a 50cc moped or a 125cc bike with L plates. The CBT is very intensive and covers theory, off-road riding and on-road riding.

Pro-Scot's CBT Course is Guaranteed if you are unsuccessful on your first visit, you can return for further training at no extra cost. You must successfully complete your CBT training before you can undertake the Part II training course (125cc) or the Direct Access (DAS) 500cc course.

What you need to know on the day

  • The CBT sign-in starts at 7:45am for an 8:00am prompt start, and normally finishes around 5:00pm;
  • CBT's are normally available 7 days a week
  • If you have a new style licence you must bring BOTH parts (Photo Card & Counter Paper Part). Failure to do so will result in the CBT being cancelled with FULL loss of money paid;
  • Students who have the old style licence must bring it with them or again the CBT will be cancelled with payment non-returnable;
  • We recommend studying your highway code prior to attending;
  • Bring glasses with you if you need to use them;
  • Bring suitable outdoor clothing and sensible footwear;
  • If you don't bring your own lunch sandwiches and drinks are available.
