The course covers the main industrial operating procedures for the whitewares industry concentrating on the tableware and sanitary ware sectors.The course has ten units delivered as 3 modules: Whitewares Ceramics Materials and Methods which covers an Introduction to Ceramics and Ceramic Technology
Raw Materials, Body Preparation, Making Methods
Drying, Firing and Glazing which covers the process, problems and effects of drying and firing and introduces glazes, colours and decoration - composition, application, faults and effects.
Testing, Health and Safety, Process Control and Quality Assurance looks at testing, sampling, methods and properties. Reviews the history and development of health and safety, legislative requirements including the dutires of employer and employee.
