The course covers preparation, planning and evaluation skills and techniques. Learners will also gain teaching delivery skills and participate in teaching. The course is aimed at getting learners to reflect and evaluate their teaching role and develop their teaching skills further.
The 6 units must be completed to make up 36 credits. These will be fully explained and resourced through our e-learning platform, so that students can then complete their assignments/evidence pieces at their own convenience. There will also be 3 one-hour lesson observations. So in general the course comprises of around 6 assignments, 30 hours teaching practice and 3 assessed observations:
By the end of the course you will be able to:

• Assess learners in education and training
• Use resources for education and training

You will be supported throughout to ensure that you are able to provide evidence that you have met all the learning outcomes required for this course. This will include:
• Assignments: to evidence the knowledge based criteria. You will have full support and mentoring from your tutor
• Practice Requirements: there is a requirement for a minimum of 30 hours of teaching practice for this qualification. Teaching hours and lesson observations will be carried out at your chosen place (e.g. private training provider, School, College etc.) with your mentor observing you. You will need to arrange this but we can support you with how to do this.
• Observation Requirements: there is a requirement for a minimum of three observations of practice. We can do your observations in person or via video link if you do not have a qualified person in your workplace to do this for you.
