Change lives by helping people through their struggles with alcohol and drugs, with this nationally recognised online course.What you'll learnLearn targeted skills to intervene in the lives of everyday people who are suffering under the grip of addiction to drugs and/or alcohol.Get the skills you need to work with addicts to help them understand their addiction, and make concrete steps toward recovery.This course will also train you to assess individual client needs and to develop and review alcohol and drug treatment plans to best meet these needs.Why study this course?You will gain a specific set of skills and knowledge that you can use to help people who are struggling with drugs and/or alcohol.The accredited online drugs and alcohol course has been designed to provide you with a strong knowledge base as well as practical skills to help you to put that knowledge to work.This online course will also prepare you to use your skills as a Drug and Alcohol Counsellor, through 160 hours of work placement in a working drug and alcohol counselling environment of your choice.Studying online with Open Colleges is fully flexible. This means you can study whenever you want, wherever you want. You can access your learning materials anytime via your online campus, OpenSpace, and make your way through the course at a pace that suits your lifestyle.This course involves work placement that currently needs to be undertaken in Australia.
