2. Course description The Level 2 Certificate is applicable to learning support staff whose responsibilities at work are supervised. This course is for those who are employed or work as a volunteer for a minimum of 2 days a week in a school for three terms. It is suitable for those who wish to gain a recognised qualification and/or progress in the workplace.

Entry requirements There are no formal entry requirements but the college must carry out an initial assessment of each candidate prior to the start of their programme to ensure that they are entered for an appropriate type and level of qualification. The learner will need some study and general communication skills in order to complete the assessment requirements.You will need to find a relevant school placement and will be required to undergo an Enhanced Criminal Bureau Disclosure application. 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method You will be observed in the workplace by a college assessor who will mark your performance against the assessment criteria of the qualification/unit in which you are working towards. Tutors/assessors will use a variety of assessment methods which will include assignment work questions and reflective accounts.
