Fossil-based fuels such as gas and oil continue to play a significant role in today’s global energy market. In addition, environmental developments with alternative energy sources mean that the technological background of engineers working in the energy sector needs to become much broader. This degree encompasses a range of technologies from oil and gas production, through to renewable resources The Diploma in Industrial Training (DIT) allows students the chance to work in the chemical and process industry before completing their final year(s) of study. The programme structure is the same as the MEng programme. Students need to apply and be accepted for a place in industry in order to qualify for the DIT award.AccreditationAccredited by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as an Incorporated Engineer and partially meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.  Show key dataProgramme contentYear 1 The first three years of this course have the same structure as the core of our BEng Chemical Engineering (H800) degree, allowing students to opt into or out of this particular programme.
