Are you working with children and want to improve your career prospects? If you want to gain a professional qualification in working with children and young people in a supervisory or management role, the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce will enhance your knowledge and practical skills and develop your confidence as a practitioner, as well as giving you a licence to practice without supervision. The course covers all aspects of childcare and education including child development, observations, providing safe and healthy environments, working with parents and the professional role of the childcare practitioner. As part of the course you will also do work experience which will enable you to put the skills you have learnt in the classroom into practice in a working environment. We have a very good success rate on this course and excellent feedback from our past students, many of whom have gone on to become family support workers, nursery managers and social workers or progressed to higher levels of study such as HNCs, HNDs, foundation degrees or university degrees. To enhance your learning, throughout the course you will have the opportunity to hear from visiting speakers who visit the college to talk to students about their experiences in the profession – recent guests have included Penny Tassoni, the author of many books about child development. This is a two year part-time course.
